SOLITUDE INTERRUPTED

Noel Kerns

This is nothing new...the Prada Marfa permanently installed sculpture, by artists Elmegreen and Dragset, inaugurated in 2005 in the middle of route 90, Texas. They called it a "pop architectural land art project", or to put it better: a well done mix of art object and publicity campaign.
I always found interesting the clashing way the desert and the minimal but very luxurious brand come together somehow...like they naturaly belong in this opposition. A work of art that makes me smile.

  2. it is always closed, it displays shoes and bags from the fall/winter 2005 collection...the building is meant to never be repaired and let it degrade with nature
